Freeform Crochet with Hook&Scumble

Freeform Crochet with Hook&Scumble

This 2 hour workshop aims to introduce participants to freeform ( “Scrumbling or Scumbling” ) crochet.

Freeform crochet allows exploration of colour, shape, texture and pattern outside the boundaries of traditional and conventional crochet techniques. This 2 hour taster session is for adult learners with a knowledge of the basic crochet stitches who wish to be inspired to use their skills to create a unique piece of freeform crochet art.

The learning methods will be demonstrations and one-to-one contact with the student and tutor.  The tutor will be only too pleased to answer your questions and there will be time during the demonstrations and the one-to-one sessions to do this.

This is a practical course and there is no paperwork, unless you wish to keep your own notes. Course handouts will be available.  You may wish to take photographs.

Crochet hooks of various sizes and amazing selection of yarns to try out will be provided by the Fibre Lounge.

It is for those with a basic knowledge of crochet who wishes to be inspired to think outside conventional and traditional techniques .

Please note due to the nature of freeform crochet and the many yarns involved, this workshop would not be suitable for those who are sensitive /allergic to wool or other yarns, including synthetic yarns.
