Secret Yarn Stash Reveal November 2018

Today commemorates 100 years since the end of the WW1. We’ve seen hundreds of poppy displays emerging across the country as we come together to pay our respects to those who have fought and continue to fight for us. I don’t want to sound like a Miss World applicant, but I really do wish there was some way to bring peace to this earth. Alas, all I can do is theme yarn, and so this months theme is Peace.

I left Katy, Harbour Crochet with the task of somehow turning Peace into a colourway. I was not expecting the stunning idea she managed to pull off so spectacularly. The hand dyed colour way this month is titled The Olive Branch. Such lovely imagery. Sometimes, even when we are right, mustering up all our stubbornness and handing over the olive branch could make such a difference to our lives. Could it bring us some Peace?

For the commercial yarn this month, I’ve included Milk and Pitch from the Erika Knight Gossypium Cotton range. I included these with white poppies in mind, a symbol of peace, though they have often been met with controversy. There is a huge instalment being created over at Purls Queens (have a look on Instagram).

Our goodies this month included a wooden dove ornament and a Camomile tea bag…if we can’t manage world peace between us, lets at least get the inner peace sorted.

Our Golden Skein this month was won by Tracey Tucker, congratulations! The Golden Skein will end with our December box this year.

We are shaking the stash up in 2019 - there will be a big blog post all about it in a couple of weeks, but for now you can sign up for Decembers box featuring an exclusive colourway from Dye Candy until the 15th November 2018!

The yarns featured in November’s stash as available to purchase from us, both in store and online.
